Back in the 1940s, newlyweds might conceivably have received some of this imported Japanese-made kitchenware as a housewarming gift made by Ucagco called "Early Provincial". They would no doubt be stunned to see the prices it's now bringing! Today it is most commonly called "Rooster & Roses". The design is easy to spot - there's the rooster, yellow breast with black crosshatching, brown head and of course the red crest and waddle, large full-blown roses with green leaves and vines, and a trimming of yellow borders punctuated by groups of brown lines.
