It was produced in the 1940's and is much rarer than the yellow clothed ones. This is an original pie vent - NOT a reproduction. 3 1/2" Elephant Pie Bird (England) This wonderful Elephant Pie Bird (also known as a pie vent used in baking pies to prevent boil overs)is 3 1/2" high. It was made in England during the 1940's by the Nutbrown Pie Funnel Company. Marked, "Nutbrown Pie Funnel, Made in England, Reg. No.880220". Rare! Very cute!!
